Exports start to thrive

According to the Dong Nai Statistics Department, the province's export turnover in October 2021 reached more than 1.43 billion USD, an increase of nearly 300 million USD compared to the previous month. Thus, in the 10 months of 2021, Dong Nai has exported nearly 17.52 billion USD, an increase of more than 15% compared to the same period in 2020. It is estimated that in the last 2 months, export turnover will continue to increase sharply.

* Many products reach billions of dollars in turnover

In the 10 months of 2021, up to 3 months of enterprises suffered heavy losses due to the Covid-19 epidemic, more than 95% of enterprises produced below normal levels. In fact, there are hundreds of manufacturing and exporting enterprises that have to stop operating or only operate in moderation.

 However, when the Government, provinces and cities have open-door policies, returning to the "new normal", enterprises have quickly returned to production, gradually increasing capacity and increasing exports. Up to now, Dong Nai has had 5 items with export turnover exceeding 1 billion USD: footwear, wood products, textiles, textile fibers, machinery and equipment and tools and spare parts.

Leading in the export group of billion USD is footwear with nearly 2.72 billion USD; followed by machinery, equipment and spare parts with more than 1.73 billion USD; wood products nearly 1.52 billion USD; textile fiber more than 1.5 billion USD and textile nearly 1.28 billion USD. It is expected that by the end of December 2021, Dong Nai will have 2 more export products exceeding 1 billion USD, which are computers, electronic products and components; means of transport and spare parts.

 Mr. Yoo Sun Hyung, Deputy General Director of Hyosung Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Nhon Trach 5 Industrial Park, Nhon Trach District) said: “Hyosung is a major yarn producer and exporter in the world. The company's goods are more than 90% exported to countries around the world. It is estimated that in 2021, Hyosung's revenue will reach $ 2.7 billion. Currently, Hyosung is still recovering; orders for the end of the year and the beginning of next year are relatively abundant.”

Although facing many difficulties during the 4th Covid-19 epidemic, many businesses confirmed that this year's export turnover will still increase quite high compared to 2020.

Mr. Luu Chau Bang, Human Resources Manager of Vietnam Center Power Tech Co., Ltd (Nhon Trach 2 Industrial Park, Nhon Trach District) shared: “This year, many countries around the world have controlled the epidemic. Production is restored, so orders for the company are also more. Therefore, during the time of social distancing, many businesses have to reduce production, but the company still tries to maintain nearly 100% of capacity to meet orders. It is expected that in 2021, the company's revenue will increase by over 10% and exports will increase significantly because the products made are mainly for export.

* Exports may arrive soon

The province's plan is that in 2021, export turnover will increase from 8.1 to 8.5% compared to 2020, but in the 10 months of the year despite great losses from the Covid-19 epidemic, exports still nearly doubled. 2 times the annual plan.

The above result is because businesses in the province know how to take advantage of the free trade agreements (FTAs) Vietnam has signed and taken effect. Agreements that open up many opportunities for Dong Nai's exports are: Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), Vietnam - European Union Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) ), Vietnam - Japan Economic Partnership Agreement...

Mr. Park Hyun Bae, Chairman of the Association of Korean Enterprises in Dong Nai assessed: "Korean enterprises in Dong Nai have prepared in advance so that when the FTAs are signed and come into effect, they will seize the opportunity. expanding exports to the above markets to enjoy preferential tariffs, increasing competitiveness with goods of the same type from other countries. Many Korean enterprises in Dong Nai have been very successful when taking advantage of opportunities from FTAs to expand production and export. This is also the reason for about 5 years now, the investment capital of Korean corporations in the province has continuously increased, currently reaching more than 7.1 billion USD.

According to Mr. Le Van Loc, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, the epidemic has been controlled, workers in enterprises have been vaccinated against Covid-19, the industry recovery rate is quite good. Rapid industrial recovery will help increase export turnover. This year, Dong Nai's export turnover is likely to far exceed the plan set out by the Provincial People's Committee.
